Commercial Partners Realty is excited to announce that our associate Erik Anderson successfully represented the tenant, The Huntsman, in securing a lease for a new high-end casual dining concept, set to open at 200 Central Avenue. The Huntsman is co-owned by Daniel Renninger, Skylar Stafford, and Ben Williamson. The trio opened the first Huntsman restaurant in Tallahassee in 2022.

The Role of Erik Anderson

Erik assisted Daniel Renninger in searching throughout St. Petersburg. After hunting for the ideal spot for their unique wild game dining concept, they decided to concentrate on Downtown St. Petersburg. This area not only offered the most exposure to potential customers but was also conveniently located within blocks of upcoming and already established condo projects, promising a steady influx of new customers.

The Hunstman group was willing to lease or purchase the right property. However, when they discovered that space at 200 Central Avenue, formerly known as The Mill, was available, their focus shifted to securing a lease. By leveraging his local knowledge and expertise, Erik was able to secure lease terms that allowed for an appropriate buildout and runway to get the business established.  Wendy Giffin of Cushman & Wakefield represented the Landlord. This 4,910 SF space is at the base of the tallest Class A office building in Downtown St. Petersburg. At a prime location on Central Avenue’s busy 200 block, it’s surrounded by restaurants, bars, and retail businesses. There are three neighboring on-site restaurants: Naked Farmer, Craft Kafe, and Taverna Costale. The Huntsman group preferred an active culinary area, as their more unique cuisine fits very well in the local mix.

About The Huntsman

The Huntsman is known for its ethically sourced wild game, seafood, and seasonal produce, primarily from Broken Arrow Ranch in Irving, Texas, and Atlanta-based Buckhead Meat and Inland Seafood. The restaurant also offers vegan and vegetarian dishes, including their popular crushed chili cauliflower, black bean, and sweet potato enchiladas.

The restaurant will feature a reconfigured layout and bar, serving cocktails and offering domestic and international wines. Unlike the Tallahassee location, the St. Pete location will offer brunch and lunch service, in addition to reopening at 5 p.m. for happy hour.
